
The managing partner of Guilford Consulting is Noel Guilford. Noel is a chartered accountant with over 30 years experience in the accounting profession, the past 25 of which have been in corporate finance and business consultancy. Noel is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, a Member of the Securities Institute and a member of the Harvard Business Review Advisory Council. He is a former Regional Chairman of the Institute of Directors in the North West of England.
Noel’s widest experience comes from advising the shareholders, directors and management of private companies. He has led and arranged acquisitions, management buyouts and disposals, raised development capital and provided strategic and business advice to numerous businesses.
Noel’s public company experience includes having advised and reported on companies that have floated on both the main market and AiM, and acting as Rule 3 adviser under the Takeover Code. Noel is also non-executive chairman of Loanmakers Holdings plc an AiM listed company.
His first non-executive directorship appointment came in 1996, for Deva Designs Limited a Chester-based design and marketing company for whom he now provides strategic and business advice. He has recently been appointed National Chairman of The Forum of Private Business (http://www.fpb.org) a not for profit members organisation representing 25,000 private businesses.
In 2007 Noel became a Director of Livewire Capital a Liverpool based fund investing in early stage technology companies. With 15 companies invested in by the Fund, all of which receive hands-on management and business services, Livewire has a number of companies with leading edge technology.Noel Guilford was formerly a senior partner at Baker Tilly where, in addition to his client responsibilities, he was National Corporate Finance Technical and Compliance Partner. He was also a member of the firm’s National Corporate Finance Steering Group. Noel was also previously a corporate finance partner at Deloitte & Touche Corporate Finance, with whom he spent a large proportion of his time, over a 4 year period, working in the Middle East.
